New Things

Our morning routine has been this lately. Up at about 6:30am, eat a bottle, then make many laps across the house with the hippo walk behind toy, try the cupboard doors to see if they are still locked-yep, still locked :) so onto throwing out as much tupperware on the floor as possible, and then take a nap. The whole time she is going wide open I have the TV on tuned into children shows. Her favorites are Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (which is hilarious b/c she loves when they say "OH TOODLES!" and do the Hotdog dance), Handy Manny, and Special Agent Oso. Brian and I both seem to catch ourselves singing along with some of the songs :)

Josey is pretty proud of herself being able to eat her cereal puffs all by herself. You usually barely get the cover off and she has her hand diving in pulling out as much as she can. She's good at getting them everywhere too....like in her clothes, diaper, floor, etc... I love her facial expression in this picture. This is something we learned this past week. I'm thinking it started at daycare. They are pretty good at teaching her things...good things too :) This is the best picture I could get b/c I had to hold it in my lap and catch her. I stuck my tongue out first and she laughed and then did this. I just love it! It probably won't be cute when she's a 2 year old and does it b/c she doesn't want to do something we told her to do.

I've never played with Josey's hair in the bathtub because she really hasn't had much to play with before :) So yesterday I gave her a mohawk and she didn't miss a beat splashing and jabbering away. Josey absolutely LOVES her baths. She's getting to be a daredevil though...starting to try to stand in the tub.

This used to be Josey's daily routine: check out what she could throw on the floor out of the cabinets. Brian but latches on all of the cabinets and man was she mad when she discovered she couldn't open them anymore. I thought she was going to rip the doors off or get shaken baby syndrome from shaking so hard!
Josey loves to look out of front picture window. She knocks on the window if anyone is out there. She's quite the card! Last week she stuck her tongue out on the window too. We have a wonderful slobber mark on the window now :)

Last but not least, this is Josey's tutu I made. It is a no sew one and I need to fix it but it was the first one I ever tried making. It needs more tulle and shortened. She wasn't sure what to think when she had it on. I was trying to find a cute idea for pictures next time and thought this might be one of them. I'll have to play around a little more before we do pictures in a couple more months. Hard to believe she's going to be 8 months this Saturday!

As for Brian, he's still been steady with his jobs which is a lifesaver. For the first year of the business, he's done quite well! I knew he could do it. Me, I've been having a frustrating time at work and wondering if I should even be a nurse anymore. I pray it gets better.

Photo Fun

This week has all three of us with a cold. Poor Josey is working on her second tooth and it looks like it is about to cut all the way through. Then, maybe, her sniffles will end. Josey's had quite the week at daycare. On Friday, the class took new class photos, played in Jello (Josey was red stained all over her body), played with leaves, and her favorite friend is moving to the infant 2 room on Monday. Josey and this little girl, Emma, are the only ones who are mobile in the infant 1 room. I am saddened that Josey will not be with her friend anymore and I think the aides were just a sad as I was about this. The aides said that those two always play with each other and follow each other all over the room.
Brian is still busy with landscaping which is great heading in the fall. He has been talking to many new customers about upcoming jobs. I hope the frost stays away long enough that he can get a lot of these jobs done. If not, I guess he'll have plenty of jobs to start on in the spring :)

We have talked about Halloween costumes...yes, I know it's a ways off but still. I want to be on top of things for Josey's first one! So I've figured out that I'm going to try to make her Dorothy (with a beanie baby dog and Toto in a basket), me as the scarecrow, and Brian wants to be the lion. I hope I'm able to pull off all of our costumes. I'm psyched that Brian wants to dress up with us! Wish me luck!
Okay, now for the pictures. I have been wanting to take some fun pictures of Josey and I was at my mom & dad's today so I used my dad's camera which is a little nicer than mine. I still need to know more of how to run my dad's camera b/c every once and a while I would end up with a blurry picture! I had fun...my oldest nephew, Taite, asked me if I was the photographer for the day :) I had fun taking pictures of all the kids. Brayton didn't want to get off the trampoline so I could take better pictures of him so I had to try to take them through the net and they didn't turn out good. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday to Me :)

So I bought myself a wine holder with my birthday money I had received. I went to Thursdays on First. For those of you who don't know, Thursdays on First is on first street in Rochester with food vendors, crafts, etc...set up there selling all sorts of things. I had gone a while ago and seen this but just couldn't pull myself to buy it. I had gone back once before this time and he had sold all of them and since today was the last Thursday of the season for this I was praying he'd have them. I lucked out b/c this design he said wasn't their usual design but one that they just tried and made only this one :) GREAT! It looks perfect in my red room downstairs. The tops plates are suppose to have candles on them but I didn't have time to stop and get any today.

This is how Josey normally looks after eating...she has to get her fingers in her mouth and smear it all over including in her hair. She loves everything we've given her so far. Josey eats a whole container of veggies and a whole container of fruit twice a day! If she keeps eating like this she'll be growing like a rockstar!
I had to take this picture...it was way too cute to not. I came home from working a night shift and found these two passed out in the bed. Josey just loves to cuddle and I'm pretty sure her dad loves every minute of it too :)
The picture of Josey's crib is b/c this is how I found it this morning. I heard her wake up about 6:40am but she was playing so I went back to sleep. It wasn't until she was crying did I go in to get her. I found her standing at the side b/c she threw her paci on the floor and was crying b/c she couldn't find the spare in her bed. I wonder why?? She had pulled the two blankets and a change of clothes into her crib off the side and had attempted to pull the hat off of her Precious Moments doll. She definitely was playing hard while we were sleeping.
I bought Josey a toothbrush b/c I had heard of people buying kid toothbrushes and letting their little ones chew on them. Don't worry you all...I don't let her have it unless supervised :) Her facial expression shows how much she enjoyed having the bristles in her mouth. She would turn it around and just chew on the soft rubber.
Last but not least, I had to post the picture of Josey's Twins outfit. The best part is I paid $3 at KMart for it. The top is the kind of sports mesh material and the shorts are the super shiny kind like basketball players wear. Oh yeah, the cutest part is the Twins name is glittery.
