This last picture is of Josey not quite ready to come inside. Her little cheeks and nose were getting quite red so we decided it was enough. Apparently, Josey didn't have the same idea as her Mommy & Daddy did.

Sledding!
We had our first good snowfall at the end of November/beginning of December so we had to rush to get snowboots and snowpants for Josey. I felt bad that we didn't have them prior to the snow arriving b/c she sat at the window all morning declaring "IT NOWING!" She handled it pretty well getting dressed up like the little kid on A Christmas Story who couldn't move in his snow gear. Brian bundled up to take her out in the snow on her sled. Josey was so excited b/c when they got outside, Nick and Nathan (our neighbor boys) were out romping around in the snow themselves. Here's a picture of Josey waiting patiently in the garage for her dad! CHEESE!
Riding on the sled hanging on tight. The snow would cave in on one side of the sled and then tilt a little but she never fell off!
Here's Brian walking around the yard pulling Josey behind him. The wind was quite strong at times so when he was walking through the snow a little would blow up and get Josey in the face. They quickly switched to sledding down the road. No cars were out and it was perfect for Brian to haul Josey up to the neighbors and push her down the hill to me. Josey was grinning from ear to ear.

Poor pumpkin hasn't been able to get back outside since our first sledding expedition. Either the windchill has been too cold or we are too busy to take her out. It is sad b/c last weekend we had a HUGE dumping of snow...like 18 inches or so. It was so extremely terrible out that I didn't make it home from work Saturday night. I stayed with a fellow co-worker in Rochester and we almost didn't make it into work on Sunday morning! We've survived but Minnesota is still getting pounded with snow off and on :)

Santa Visit
We headed to the mall midday to see Santa and hoped we would get back home before the snow storm hit. When we got there, we lucked out again cuz there were no kids in line to see Santa! We quickly tried to get Josey's jacket and hat off so she could go get her picture taken. Just as we were getting her coat put away, here came Santa and asked for a hug! Josey being the super little cuddler was happy to fulfill his wish. I can't believe she's not afraid of him! Most little kids wouldn't even go near him and some would only sit on his lap if one of their parents were near.
We didn't get a smile while on Santa's lap but that is okay. She didn't scream her head off so that was a plus. We took a few pictures and then Santa asked Josey what she wanted for Christmas...
I said, "Elmo." Then Santa asked Josey if Elmo was what she wanted for Christmas and she gave him a look like "YOU KNOW ELMO TOO!" That was the only time she would look at Santa while on his lap :)
As we were finishing up, one of Santa's helper asked, "Are you pregnant?" I nodded and they quickly said they had to do a "Baby's first list" picture. Santa wrote down what the little one said but wouldn't give us insite whether the baby was a good little GIRL or BOY???? Guess we'll have to wait until March :)
This is what happens when you have too much excitement from visiting Santa, running the halls of the mall to burn off energy, and watching it blow snow while we are headed home. That's right, we didn't make it home before the snow started but it wasn't bad. Josey loves when it snows. She points out the window and says, "it's snowing!"
Hilarious
Many of you know as a parent sometimes you just have to laugh at the things your child has done or said. The last couple of weeks here have been full of those moments. Josey is definitely getting into the crazy 2's. I swear each day she is a completely different child b/c she is picking up on new things all the time. We'll start off with a couple of things I don't have pictures for:
Josey had her first experience with flushing something down the toilet that wasn't meant to go down the toilet. I heard the dryer make a funny noise so I ran down there to see what was going on. I kid you not that I was gone maybe a minute or two! I came upstairs to find Josey with both lids to the toilet open, flushing the toilet like crazy, and smashing the toilet brush in the bowl. Well, it wasn't until later that night when Brian was helping her go potty we realized that the toilet didn't drain very fast. The next day Brian took the toilet off the floor to find a....golfball! We did ask Josey what she put down the toilet when it wasn't draining well and she did say ball. She was proud as could be that she put a ball in the toilet :) I guess she must have tried to flush it down the first time and it didn't go well so she had to get the toilet brush to help it along! Brian didn't find much humor in this :) LMAO!
Josey is in a big girl bed now and learned that if she uses her step stool, she can reach the lights in her room. I got up for work the other day around 5:30am and found Josey's light on in her room. I carefully opened her door to find her laying next to her bed in the fetal position. All I can figure out is that she got down, turned on the lights, put her doggie and babydoll in bed, and she couldn't get back up there so she laid on the floor. I smiled and put her back into bed and she quickly snuggled into the warm blankets :) Only God knows what time she got up b/c we never heard her make a peep during the night.
Not afraid of Santa. We were in the mall yesterday b/c I had to try to find some cheap clothes for Josey since she's growing like a weed! I put a shirt on her yesterday and it came to the top of her pants and was a little snug. We are wearing a few 3T shirts and all 3T jammies! To top it off, when I was putting her shoes on in the morning, Josey screamed, "OWWIEEE!" She refuses to keep her shoes on so we also had to buy the next bigger size shoes! Yikes, I think she'll be a bit taller than her mother :) Anyway, back to Santa, so we had to walk by where Santa was in the middle of the mall. Josey kept asking, "Who's that?" I didn't have enough time to get a picture nor were we dressed for a Christmas picture with Santa so I stopped outside the big setup where we could see him. We lucked out b/c there weren't any kids waiting for pictures so Santa got up and came to talk with us! Josey waved like crazy and when he got by us she put her little hand in his and said, "Hi, Baby." He talked with us a bit and then we had to head out to finish our errands before it was too late. Not once did Josey cry or seem concerned that Santa was right there and touching her :) We're going to attempt to go back today to get a nice picture with Santa.
Now onto the pictures...Josey has these little rain boots that she absolutely loves to put on herself and wear around. Anytime she wants to go somewhere, she puts these boots on. She's crying in the photo b/c she wanted to go out into the garage to play but it was too cold and about her bedtime :) I just love that her pants are always smashed up to her knees so she can get her boots on all the way.
Safety first! Josey got this little Sesame Street helmet from our neighbors. It was a hand me down one but we've got our use of it! Now, this was totally her idea to put her helmet on so she could go riding on her three wheeler. She will also get a purse, her phone, and sometimes her babydoll to go riding. What a nut! I'm surprised we haven't literally busted a gut laughing at her yet.

Christmas season is here! We put up our Christmas tree and a few other decorations. They are all in the basement where Josey rarely goes so I figured they would be safe. Josey is facinated with the beautiful Christmas lights and calls them "pretties." She assisted in putting up the tree but had a hard time not pulling on the ribbon as we were trying to go around the tree. She also loves to lay underneath the tree or try to hide behind it which there is no room for her to hide behind it :)
Here are all our stockings in a row! Next year, we'll have to add another to the collection :) I'll have to look for a stocking holder this year b/c there aren't a lot of fun ones out there to chose from. I hope you all are having a great time getting ready for Christmas. I know it really started to feel like the Christmas season when a little snow came around. We're supposed to get about 9 inches today...I'm crazy and love the snow!
