Happy Halloween! A little late I know but still heartfelt :) We had a great Halloween this year. Josey loved it just as much as she did last year. I thought long and hard on her costume this year b/c most of the toddler costumes in the stores I knew she wouldn't wear. She wouldn't wear a hood, anything on her back, and anything too tight or itchy. We're getting quite picky on our clothes lately. Anyway, I remembered I had bought some Halloween tights last year at the end of the season. I was at Kohl's looking at the kid's clothes and noticed a little Halloween shirt that was quite fitting: Daddy's Little Monster. I know it was meant for a boy but it worked very well. I didn't realize how perfect it was going to match the tights I already had at home. To top off the costume, I made her a lime green/orange/black/white tutu with black ribbon. Finishing touches: black eyeliner stitch mark on forhead, 3 crazy ponytails, and silver hair coloring. TOO CUTE! (A little proud of my little costume ;)

We were invited to a kids' Halloween party on Saturday night. We drove, much farther than I thought it would be, but Josey loved all the kids and decorations so it was worth it. She refused to wear her costume to it so I dressed her in a pumpkin shirt with black sweatpants; festive enough :) The party was put on by a lady a coworker of mine knew and it was super cute. There were stations where the kids could play games and frost cookies. They had put a little maze together with haybales, had a popcorn machine, food for everyone, and Halloween suckers with the sticks stuck in a pumpkin when you left. I was impressed. I'm thinking already about putting one on for the little mom group I'm a part of from my work.
To put it blunt, Josey is loaded with candy! My sister-in-law's mom gave her 3 regular sized candy bars along with other candy!
Oh yeah, before I forget, pumpkin carving. Josey and I carved one of our pumpkins. One you ask? Yes, one pumpkin. Josey is really not a fan of the insides of pumpkins. She refused to put her arm in it or even feel the guts after I took them out. She screamed and cried when I started to cut out the face. Terrified, Josey left the kitchen and wouldn't come back until I was done. The picture of her looking inside of the pumpkin is where she is yelling, "PEW! PUNKIN!" She kept on saying that the pumpkin was pew. The picture of her sitting by it on the counter...she is knocking on it with her fist and it wasn't long before she broke out in tears.

This last picture...Josey is wearing the glasses my mom had on with her costume. Josey was a little unsure of my mom when she saw her with these glasses on and crazy teeth in.

P.S. The date comes up in September b/c I started a blog entry then but never finished it so I deleted the information and used the draft entry I had. That's how it got in September and not Nov 3rd.
