Kasson Parade

I just have to tell you about how much fun we had at the Kasson parade. It wasn't b/c of what was in the parade but how Josey reacted to the parade. It was her 3rd one and apparently that was enough for her to catch on as what to do at them. First, she was busy waving at all the veterans and princesses. Then the candy started to come. Josey would let out a little shriek of excitement and start saying, "I GOT IT! I GOT IT!" It took a little while for us to convince her to put her candy into the bag we brought along. She finally understood that the candy was still her's if it was in the bag.

Then to top the parade off, there was huge gap at the end of the parade but we knew something was still coming b/c people around the corner weren't leaving yet. We waited but Josey got tired of standing there so she headed down the street a bit to get some candy left over from other kids. Well, just as Josey took about 4 steps and Brian started after her, here comes the end of the parade. It was a little team of miniature horses pulling a buggy! Josey screamed, "HORSEY!" and broke into a run! Brian booked it to grab her. I was laughing so hard b/c I have never seen a child so enthusiastic about horses.

She made a killing on the candy b/c so many people would throw her more candy after they saw how she reacted when it was thrown in her direction. The lady, whose yard we sat in, thanked us for sitting there b/c she enjoyed watching Josey's reactions. It was well worth the sleep I lost...I was working overnights all weekend but still wanted to make sure Josey got to parttake in the festivities :)

I'm sorry I don't have any pictures of the parade. I was extremely tired when we left the house and that meant no camera along.
