A Little Bit of Everything

It is amazing that summer is coming to an end! Time has gone quickly and even though I don't have any kids that go back to school, I still dread the start of school. School means no neighbor kids outside during the day to chat with on my days off or entertain Josey. Josey immediately looks for the neighbors when we get outside. She's growing like a weed! I have to make her 1 1/2 year checkup and find out exactly how much she is growing. I can tell she's growing cuz her little hands can reach a lot more in the drawers and on top of the cupboards :) Here is a cute picture of just what her little hands can reach, my measuring cups. She decided to use it to hold her juice cup one morning. What a hoot! I just happened to capture one of her many facial expressions. This is her reaction after flinging some cold water out of the pool with her shovel.

Two boys that will be missed immensely. They were always so good with Josey. Josey adored them and vice versa. The first picture is of Taite in a jumbo blow up ball my mom got...the game was to stand up in it and have someone come running and push you over in it. The only ones light enough to actually be in the ball were Taite and Brayton so they were having a blast!

Here's Brayton giving Josey and Maisie a ride in the wagon behind the jumbo tricycle. I think they went around the driveway circle about 30 times. Brayton never seemed to get tired and Josey was the perfect size to ride in the wagon :)

I thought this was a photo of Josey and her jumbo ice cream cone we got from McDonald's but instead it is of her with her chicken wrap from Wendy's. She's quite the picky eater when it comes to meat but if you put it in a wrap she'll eat away! It's nice to know b/c the wraps aren't that bad for you and plus you can order the chicken grilled. I forgot to tell them no lettuce so she was picking a bunch out about every other bite. No, she didn't eat the whole thing but eat at least 1/3-1/2 of it.

Josey found a new way to watch TV. Put your step stool on the couch and then relax while sitting on it. I told her to strike a pose and this is how she sat ;) She's getting so big. A lot of our time now is spent singing the ABC's. Now, she doesn't get them in order but remembers a lot of the letters and can mumble them all together. We work on the correct order and sometimes she can sing the next part of the song if you start. We are also saying many more words these days. She tries to say just about anything you tell her. She just won't repeat "I love you." Stinker!

I was thinking about it the other day and realized that Josey has 3 Great-Grandma's alive. I thought that was pretty amazing so I'm working on getting pictures with all of them for her baby book. So far, one down two to go. This is a 4 generation...Josey, Me, Great-Grandma Pahl, & Grandma Bolles. As you can tell, I was trying to wrestle with Josey to keep her looking at the camera. She was just way to busy to stop and take a picture so she was trying to get down and run! There happened to be crop duster planes spraying the fields by my aunt's house so Josey and my aunt were outside for quite sometime watching and waving to them. Josey seems to have become obsessed with airplanes in the last month or so. Everytime she hears one, we have to try to find it in the sky.

The town of Kasson is having it's annual celebration this weekend. I have never really parttaken in much of it b/c 1. I don't really have a clue what some of the things are that they print in the paper and 2. Never had to pay attention for kid stuff. Well, a guy at work told me about the "ball drop." I had no clue what it was until he told me the night before it happened. Kids of all ages go to the softball fields in Kasson (broke up by age groups though), a helicopter flies over the field and drops a bunch of ping pong balls with numbers on them, the kids run and pick up one ball, and then they can redeem it to see what they have won. Most of the kids got a bag of M&M's or Reese's Pieces, bubbles, and a free buffet pass for Cici's Pizza. There were some bigger prizes but we didn't stick around to see what they were b/c of the mass of kids that was everywhere at the park. Josey's cousins, Landen & Mason, joined us for the event. They absolutely love "Baby Josey." They were very good boys. Landen needed a little convincing to go out onto the ballfield but did fine once out there...just didn't want to get in on the picture. This is Josey and Mason waiting for the helicopter to arrive.

The mass of kids on the ballfield picking up ping pong balls.

Here's the helicopter that brought the balls to the ballfield. You can barely see it but I got it when it was throwing out the ping pong balls. Josey was more in awe over the helicopter then she was in getting a ball. She had trouble hanging onto her ball...apparently, it was more fun to throw our ball at random times then it was to hang onto it :)

Josey is changing daily. She is very loving. You get a lot of hugs, kisses, and pats on the back. Of course, I'm eating it up.
