A Bunch of Firsts

I have been the worst at updating the blog and I apologize. It seems like life slips by each day and I don't find much time to get to the computer. So my updates are quite lengthy b/c of the gap of time in between each one. The first couple of pictures are of Josey and her FIRST ponytail...I know it looks a little crazy but I try anything to try to keep her hair out of her face. It doesn't work anyway b/c she always pulls it out. We're working on leaving in barretts, ponytails, and pigtails. She's wearing a little jean skirt, too! Josey is quite the girlie girl...we also painted her toenails for the first time, just a light pink with sparkles but she loves it! Aren't messy ponytails in style anyway?

Another first, Josey was hospitalized. The next picture of her passed out sleeping is what I came home to from working a nightshift. I thought it was super cute b/c she was snuggled in bed with her daddy. Then Brian woke up and told me she wasn't doing very well. She woke up and her breathing was not good so I gave her a nebulizer. I laid on the couch while she played for a little bit and then she was worse a hour later. Long story short, 2 more nebulizers & an x-ray and we were admitted to the pediatric floor at St. Mary's. She was the best patient! Rarely cried and giggled even when she was breathing about 50 times a minutes! After just over 24 hours, we were released and doing well. They said it was an asthma exacerbation.

A first for Josey and Brian was Oxbow Park. For those of you not from around here, Oxbow is a little free zoo about 10 miles from us. It is a pretty nice little zoo for a small community. Josey seemed to enjoy it but was most excited about the miniture horse in the group of farm animals. We lucked out and saw them feed the wolves, coyotes, and the cougar.

Josey didn't know what to think of the goats. They were sticking their heads through the fence eating grass out of peoples' hands. Brian made Josey pet one but she wasn't thrilled at all.

Burning off some energy! Running to see the buffalo :)

Josey loves putting on our 3 year old neighbors bike helmet so they were kind enough to give Josey her very first helmet. It is a hand-me-down but works just as well. She was riding her trike with it but I didn't have the camera outside then so I missed the shot. Her is a quite shot of her taking it off b/c she didn't want to wear it when I got the camera.

Extreme grilling...requires a helmet!

We filled Josey' s alligator pool and she loves it! Of course, the whole time she is in and out of it so we have to refill it each day as it gets filled with grass. Here is a picture of her "swimming."

I'll take credit for her glasses on crooked. I quickly put them on so I could get a picture and didn't realize that the other side wasn't resting on her ear. It all depends on her mood if she'll wear them longer than a second. Usually if we tell her something makes her look pretty, she'll keep it on.

This video isn't the greatest b/c I didn't think I'd get her to cooperate. Block my voice out but listen to what Josey says. She whinney's (spelling?) like a horse, says horsey (I think), and then says YeeHaw for a cowgirl.
